Lucas Phipps

Hi my name is Lucas Phipps. I am an Army Veteran. I just wanted to take the time to share my gratitude for MTK and the extraordinary workers for the company Christina and Scott Loveless.

I was told about this organization that helps Veterans back when I was going through a divorce and homeless living with my 8yr old son in my 2006 Toyota Camry. I told Christina my situation and she immediately reached out to a Veteran Service Officer out of Monticello IN Nathan Baker. This individual in his kindness and empathy directed my son and myself to a Best Western where he paid for us to have room and board for a whole week.

We stayed in contact with Christina with MTK and she put us in touch with the leasing office manager at Coppergate Apartments. Next thing you know 468 days of being homeless with my son had come to an end. On the 21st of December 2023 my son Blace and myself were given the keys to our new apartment at Coppergate.

None of this would have been possible without the love, help and support of Christina and her husband Scott through MTK. They not only helped us find a place to live but helped us move, provided groceries and even Christmas presents for my sons. The love they have for Veterans has been unmatched in my eyes. I was offered a job on the site as the Ground Technician/ Caretaker a few months after the move-in. So not only was my son and myself blessed with a place to live, but a job to help me provide better for my sons.

Christina always had words of kindness and encouragement and it helped push me to stay strong in such dark times. I will forever be grateful for the hospitality, empathy and kindness given to myself and my son by MTK.
